Orinda Chamber of Commerce Email Advertising Program

Ad Rates and Specifications

Now you have the opportunity to put your message in our email newsletter to Orinda Chamber Members.

Background:

The Orinda Chamber of Commerce communicates with its more than 200 members and other subscribers via email on a periodic basis. As part of this communications process, the Chamber publishes a monthly newsletter entitled E-News. Each monthly issue (generally containing the same content) is sent twice, once early in the month and then later during the same month.

Example: Place your ad in next month's E-News and it will be sent to the Chamber's email subscribers twice during the month for the low monthly rate specified below. In comparison, postage alone for two mailed postcards to the same members would cost almost 30% more than the highest $60 ad rate.

The Chamber makes available in each monthly issue of E-News three advertising spots for purchase at the below rates:

E-News Advertising Rates:

Ad Space Name Location of Ad Advertising Rate/Issue
Space #1 (platinum) top of page - right column $60.00 per month
Space #2 (gold) just below Space #1 $50.00 per month
Space #3 (silver) bottom of page - left or right column or
other higher placement of our choice
$40.00 per month

Ad Specifications:

The size of each E-News ad is as follows: 284 pixels wide by 134 pixels high

An example of the ad size is shown below:

Ad Submittals:

Ads for creation by the Chamber graphics design team:

If you do not have artwork completed for your ad, we can create an ad for you. The cost of creation and ONE revision after your review of the ad we create for you is included in the above advertising rates when you follow the following guidelines:

a) Provide the ad "copy" you desire in an email to info@orindachamber.org. Keep the wording to a minimum to enable the ad copy you desire to fit into the ad space, and be legible.

b) If you desire your logo or some other image in your ad, attach to your email the image (jpg images are preferred) you want included in the ad (or tell us where the image is located at your web site). We can reduce images, but not enlarge them to fit your ad.

c) Graphics design work we perform beyond one revision of your ad or our development of original artwork will involve additional charges, so check with us first if you cannot provide the items noted in sections a) and b) above.

If your already have your ad created by your own graphics designer:

If you have an ad already created in the size 284 pixels wide by 134 pixels high (your own graphics designer can create this ad for you), send the ad file attached to your email. The file format we require is "jpg."

What if you want to use your business card as an ad?

The size of the above ads are obviously much smaller than a business card, and the ads are not the same width/height ratio as the typical business card. This causes problems in simply reducing your business card to fit the size of the ad. For example, some information on your full-size business card that is large enough to read might be so small after reduction as to be very hard to read - or unreadable. In such cases, we can usually re-set type to overcome this. Wording in images or artwork on your card cannot be enlarged, however. You can mail us your business card or send a color scan of it, and we will let you know if we can create your E-News ad from it.

Deadlines for Ad Reservations:

Ad reservations are on a "first-come" basis, so try to make your reservation early. There are only three ad spaces in each E-News issue. Call us at 925-254-3909 or email us at info@oringachamber.org to reserve your ad space. We will let you know what space is available - and when we must receive your ad submittal. Ad submittals received after the 20th of the month prior to the publication date you have reserved may cause your ad to be placed in a later issue as space becomes available.
